Birth Empowered: Childbirth Education
I create my childbirth workshop to solve two challenges I frequently see:
Most first-time parents, and especially the birthing partner, view childbirth as something scary and painful because no one has ever instructed them otherwise.
Many childbirth courses focus on the basics and what to expect according to hospital protocols, without taking into account the preferences of the families or teaching them what their options are so they can feel prepared for decisions that may need to be made.
In this course you can expect to learn all about:
How to prepare your body for labor and delivery in the final weeks of pregnancy
Different birth scenarios from planned to emergency c-sections to inductions and spontaneous labor
Signs of labor & when to go to the hospital
Stages of labor including what to expect during each one, possible interventions and how to support your birthing partner
How to push to protect the pelvic floor
The first hour after delivery
The first week postpartum
This 3-hour course is offered 1:1 or in a small group and it can be done virtually or in person depending on the preferences of the family.
